About this programme

Translation here is studied as a field with theory and several specialist strands: the module list includes an introduction to translation studies, audiovisual translation in two parts, literary translation approaches, and multilingual marketing and transcreation. Language management and policy, economics modules and workshops labelled by language pair (FR/DE, EN/DE, IT/DE) round out the picture.

With a passive language the master takes 1.5 years, or 3 semesters. Teaching is in French and English, and French is expected at CEFR level B2. Holders of the Faculty's own bachelor in multilingual communication are admitted if they keep the same language combination. Applicants with a foreign bachelor's degree register by 28 February 2027, and those with a Swiss bachelor's by 30 April 2027.
