About this programme

Autonomous driving and control carry much of the elective list: AV Perception, AV Artificial Intelligence, AV Development and Simulation, Nonlinear Control and Modeling and Reduction of Complex Systems, each worth 5 credits.⁠ Vehicle Concepts, Sustainable Production and several ethics modules, such as Applied Ethics and Philosophy of Technology, widen the choice.⁠ Students can also take an 11-credit team project or research internship, and the Master's Thesis is worth 30 credits.⁠

The Master of Science is a full-time degree at Garching, with 120 ECTS credits over four semesters, taught in German and English.⁠ A recognized undergraduate degree is the minimum, and selection runs through a two-stage aptitude assessment.⁠ Applicants prove either German or English, and applications go through TUMonline.⁠ Studies can begin in the winter or summer semester, and summer 2027 lectures start on 12 April.⁠
