A 3-trimester language course, taught in Czech, in Prague.
Czech language comes first in this preparatory year for future arts and architecture students, with subject teaching starting from week 3. Orientation in weeks 1 and 2 combines intensive Czech with an adaptation programme, and trimester-end tests in Czech and the academic subjects track progress. Lessons run 25 a week, each 45 minutes, Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 15:30, totalling 900 lessons over 3 trimesters. Independent work of about 10 hours a week is expected on top.
Classes are held on campus in Prague-Krystal and are taught in Czech, moving learners from B1 towards B2. A final Czech exam leads to a certificate recognised by more than 80 faculties. Applicants should be 17 or older and have completed, or be about to complete, secondary education. Czech at B1 is required, assessed on admission when no recognised certificate exists, while English is not required. The course starts in September 2027.
