About this programme
Sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds choose an academic subject such as Architecture, Art History, Biology, Computer Science, Economics, Creative Writing or Classical Civilisation. Teaching combines small-group seminars with independent essays or problem sheets that are then discussed in tutorials of one or two students, and classes hold no more than 10. The course carries no university credit and ends with a certificate of participation.
Each course lasts 2 weeks and is based at Somerville, St Anne's or St Hilda's, which the programme hires for the summer. Residential students are on half board, and excursions include the Ashmolean Museum, Blenheim Palace, Bath and Bristol. Law sessions in 2027 start on 27 June, 4 July, 11 July and 18 July. No formal requirements are listed beyond real interest in the subject and good working English. The 2027 price is £5,795 per session non-residential and £6,995 for the plus tier.
